Paintings

The paintings are characterised by a movement between figurative and abstract or structural painting. These modes have no sharply defined boundaries, quite the opposite. One flows into the other: a landscape or figure dissolves into an abstract structure, while from the structure a face, a fragment of a body or a figure emerges. The morphology of the paintings is often shaped by a dynamic painterly gesture (spreading or dragging paint with a spatula, a stick, a brush) and by the rhythm of that gesture.
